Madjeen & Walter

Madjeen and Walter had their wedding ceremony on a warm day in early summer 2022 on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Lambert’s Cove Beach in West Tisbury. The bride was breathtaking in her lace dress and the groom was pure joy and excitement. Their love and smiles were contagious.  

The ceremony started with a quote about the meaning of true love from the great poet, peace activist and Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh. It was destiny and the faith in true love that brought Madjeen and Walter together five years before. 

In her vows, Madjeen took a moment to acknowledge that their ceremony was taking place on the island of Martha’s Vineyard that has historical significance for black people as a refuge and welcoming retreat. They both shared the sensation of being in the right place, in front of their loving families and friends. 

After the ceremony, the bride and groom had a private photoshoot on a beautiful boat that took them directly to Garde East Restaurant in Vineyard Haven for their wedding reception. While guests were enjoying cocktails and cheering from the balcony, the couple strolled down the dock and went right into their first dance.

 That’s what we call a Grand Entrance!
