Meet Rebecca Johnson, or Bex, our new co-proprietor and the rock star of our team whose intuition and grace perfectly align with our vision, promising elegance and ease in our operations. In 2024, she shone brightly with both clients and colleagues, making us incredibly excited about our partnership and the growth of My Vineyard Elopement in 2025 and beyond.

Bex's journey through premier hospitality destinations—from the pristine slopes of Jackson Hole to the serene shores of Kauai—has cultivated her refined expertise in creating exceptional guest experiences. Her impressive tenure spans the prestigious Four Seasons resort and select boutique establishments across Martha’s Vineyard, Alta, Utah, and Nantucket, each chapter adding depth to her hospitality narrative.

When Bex discovered Martha's Vineyard, she found more than a destination—she found her calling. The island's unique blend of community spirit, agricultural heritage, and artistic soul deeply resonated with her roots in Minnesota farm country. As a passionate advocate for local farming initiatives and a devoted supporter of the arts, Bex brings an authentic appreciation for the Vineyard's distinctive character to the My Vineyard Elopement team.

While her heart now belongs to the island, Bex's adventurous spirit still soars during the off-season. Whether carving fresh tracks at new ski destinations or improving her golf swing in Mexico, she maintains a balance between island dedication and global exploration. Her diverse experiences and genuine love for both luxury service and authentic connections make her an invaluable asset to our team, where she's found not just a career but a true home.

Meet SHARISSE CAIL PERRY

Your Wedding Planner

With years of experience in event planning and a lifetime of summers on Martha's Vineyard, Sharisse brings an intimate and personal knowledge of the island. There is no place she loves more, which is why she planned her own wedding at East Chop Lighthouse. That experience cemented her love for the island's unique magic and gave her a firsthand perspective on crafting a flawless day here.  East Chop Light holds a special place in her heart and every year she returns there with her family to photograph a new memory.  She would love to help you create a celebration that feels as memorable, timeless and beautiful as the Vineyard itself and it would be her honor to help you write your very own Vineyard love story.

Meet Laura Orlescu

Financial Manager

Originally from Romania in Eastern Europe, and with a unique background in documentary film festival production and human rights advocacy, Laura brings a rare blend of heart, precision, and big-picture thinking to our team. She joined My Vineyard Elopement in 2019 and has since grown into nearly every role within the company — from lead wedding planner to on-site coordinator. Today, she oversees all of our financial operations.

While others may gravitate toward the romance and aesthetic details of weddings, Laura finds equal joy in the invisible architecture that makes it all possible: the timelines, the budget spreadsheets, the color-coded charts — all the behind-the-scenes structure that allows our events to unfold seamlessly. Precision is her love language.

Meet Jacalyn Kane

My Vineyard Elopement Founder

In 2013, My Vineyard Elopement was founded by concert/event producer, Jacalyn Kane. Jackie merged her love of the Island with her unique talents and expertise to create a first class elopement & wedding service.

For over twenty years she created and produced non-profit events, award shows, and major festivals. From Martha’s Vineyard to the west coast, from the Vineyard Peace Concert in 1986, to the 2002 Whole Earth Festival in Los Angeles, to independent baby boomer concerts & The Pops on The Vineyard, she has created with passion, style and unique vision.

My Vineyard Elopement’s innovative Island team specializes in creating intimate weddings for you and your love or for a larger gathering of family and friends.
